Go with the Flow
When you do a google search for the word FLOWING, Dictionary.com says it means “proceeding smoothly or easily, circulating or proceeding from a source.” You inspire us at BrookLink to continue being a flowing stream moving ahead smoothly from our source, the Lord Jesus Christ.
In John 7:38-39, Jesus reminds his followers, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” And John the evangelist helpfully adds, “Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive.”
This striking image brings to mind pictures of the boundless depths of power and grace, of significant progress, impact and influence, all of which are attributable to the mysterious work of the Holy Spirit! Not only this, but the Spirit’s work, like a flowing river, spills out and over into the lives of those within its sphere of influence.
Your life and my life are like a river and the Spirit in us provides the dynamic, the grace, energy and power to make an eternal difference wherever we are.
And that’s exactly what you are doing! Your Spirit-produced prayers and wealth of generosity mean that BrookLink is able to continue to bring the Spirit’s influence wherever we are invited to teach, train, encourage and minister. The Apostle Paul reminds us that, “your ministry of service is not only supplying the needs of the saints (worldwide) but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God." (2 Cor. 9:12)
Sometimes there seems to be an endless Grand Canyon of need ahead of us. Armenia, Ethiopia, China, Nigeria and Pakistan all have invitations in front of BrookLink. And closer to home, Southbrook Church in Franklin, Wisconsin has planned for 5 days of ‘Go Further’ and I am invited to be the featured speaker each night. Come join me if you are in the area July 15-19! For more information about this event, please visit Southbrook Church’s website at www.southbrookministries.org/go-further.
Will you help us to ‘stay in step with the Spirit’ by giving financial support this summer? A gift of any amount will keep us circulating smoothly in these leaner months of the year. Make a gift online today at www.BrookLink.org/get-involved/make-a-gift.
In addition to international and domestic ministries this summer, we have plans for a summit in August where we will gather like-minded global teachers and leaders to pray and strategize about expanding our sphere of influence and working together. Stay tuned for more about this, and thanks for praying for these important days of meetings.
Ever grateful for you,
Founder & President, BrookLink
P.S. Join us in the ‘flowing river’ by giving a gift today. Your gift matters! Thank you.
